The only drawback of OEM is that if you want to replace the motherboard this licence end and is not valid anymore.
You can go around if you will get a confirmation from the seller or repair compnay that the motherboard was faulty and need to be replaced.
It can be memory or CPU as well.Just try following to start with:
Unplug everything and then just connect the motherboard 20/24 pin and 12V 4pin for the CPU. No need to plug the harddrive, CD rom, memory or anything else including the graphic card.
Then try to power the system again. Does the CPU cooler is running at least?
Maybe we can rule out something.
Its hard over the forum but sometimes with luck its possible to find out the issue.
No, thats not true. The PC must be purchased at that time. Not made.
So for example if I will buy all the componenst and Vista OEM you can upgrade to Win 7 for a really small fee. Some vendors will give that upgrade for free.
You need both powerfull CPU as well powerfull GPU for ARMA.
Its very, very demanding game and I would say poorly optimezed. For the money you saing you cant build a system which would run ARMA II at accetable frame rate and details.
New HD is fine. There is never enough space.
Buying new PSU for future upgrade is fine as well but I lack the point buying it now if this will not give you any benefit. The pricing will go down for sure when you will be builduing the next stages. The same with MB. Why to change it if the existing is working?
When you will build the new stages there might be possibilities to use totally different system (AMD) or totally different socket with same vendor(Intel). I dont think it would really wise to invest money for the MB replacement now.
look at the above picture. It loooks different that the one coming with the standard AM3 heatsink.
I never used ebay so that would me like learning driving a bus but I will check there anyway and maybe someone could help me to buy it from there if I would even find it there.
Just had a bad feeling I will have to threw this great cooler out of the window. Zalman support suck to be honest.
EDITED:
Dadge,
thanks for pointing me to ebay. I found it there but now another problem raised. I dont have any experience with this kind of buying, nor paypal so how to buy it? Please anyone who is already using ebay willing to help me?
I am migrating from AMD socket 939 to AM3. I have the nice Zalman 9500 LED cooler which I would like to reuse.
The only problem which is in fact critical for me that when I bought this cooler the AM2+/AM3 socket did not exist so the package does not contain the CLIP + CLIP leaver for AM3 socket. They stilll make the same cooler however the package contain this 2 important items now.
Please does someone have this CLIP + CLIP leaver (called brackets in the picture)by chance and could send it to me. I would pay the postage ofcourse.
Or if some of your friend woudl have this.
This is a great cooler and I dont want it hrew away just because of this stupid small things without I cant mount it on AM3 socket.
I tried Win 7 and its way much better on my really old system then Vista is. I think they finally figured out the performance in right way. Its a shame they did not at start with Vista but iáts no suprise from M$
